La Triada del amor y el
poder es dibujada en carboncillo sobre papel convirtiéndose en un clásico standee, esos carteles publicitarios de
pie del cine que nacen a principios del siglo XX
donde la gente puede posar detrás de los personajes en cartelera. La imagen
hace referencia al póster de la película Cleopatra (1963) de Joseph L.Mankiewicz protagonizada
por Liz Taylor, Richard Burton
y Rex Harrison. Una faraona egipcia sentada en su trono acompañada por sus dos grandes amantes, los generales romanos Julio César (a su derecha) y Marco Antonio (a su izquierda), una de las
historias de amor más famosas que existen, quienes mueren en manos de Octavio, quien pasa a ser el primer emperador romano bajo el nombre de Augusto.
Una obra que juega directamente con los códigos visuales que se utilizan en la representación del poder en la cultura de masas. No es de extrañar que la erudita Cleopatra supiera dominarlos a la perfección, y decidiera presentarse como la encarnación humana de la diosa Isis, deidad que también se le rendía culto en Roma y Grecia. Incluso después de la llegada del cristianismo, se dice que fue le creencia pagana más difícil de derribar. La Triada de Abidos -Osiris, Isis y Horus- finalmente terminó siendo reemplazada por la trinidad del Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo, casi cinco siglos después de la llegada de Cristo.

The triad of love and power is drawn in charcoal on paper and becomes a classic standee, those cardboard cut-outs of cinema advertising that were born at the beginning of the 20th century, where people could pose behind the characters on the screen. The image refers to the poster for the film Cleopatra (1963) by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, starring Liz Taylor, Richard Burton and Rex Harrison. The Egyptian pharaoh sits on her throne surrounded by her two great lovers, the Roman generals Julius Caesar (on her right) and Mark Antony (on her left), one of the most famous love stories, who both died at the hands of Octavian, who became the first Roman emperor under the name of Augustus.
